The international competition, also known as QC4SG 2026, brought together students, researchers, quantum technology experts, industry representatives, and innovation leaders to develop solutions using quantum computing. The event emphasized the role of international cooperation, education, and innovation in building a sustainable quantum technology ecosystem.
The opening ceremony featured representatives from the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee and Vietnam’s National Innovation Center. Discussions highlighted the importance of creating networks that connect experts, institutions, businesses, and young talent to advance quantum technologies for sustainable development.
ICISE representatives emphasized the value of global scientific connections in strengthening research cooperation and innovation. International quantum technology organizations also shared perspectives on the growing quantum ecosystem, including Quandela of France, Qudora of Germany, and Quapp of Japan.
The presentations explored several important areas, including the development of quantum computing and its potential applications in Vietnam’s strategic sectors; the infrastructure and platforms needed to support research, training, and innovation; and the importance of connecting talented individuals with businesses and real-world challenges to encourage the growth of quantum startups.
Following the ceremonial launch of QC4SG 2026, VNQuantum presented the competition’s orientation, rules, and principal challenges. Finalists were then prepared to apply their knowledge and creativity to problems demonstrating how quantum technologies can contribute to society and sustainable development.
