LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines — The Quantum Computing Society of the Philippines (QCSP) is partnering with Invictus. Training. Solutions. to bring a Quantum Technology and Computing Ideathon to the Bicol region, running as the afternoon program of the 1st R-IT Congress: Region V on September 26, 2026, at the Legazpi Convention Center in Legazpi City, Albay.

The 1st R-IT Congress: Region V, themed “Future-Proofing IT: Building a Resilient Future in an AI-Centric World.”

The R-IT Congress carries the theme “Future-Proofing IT: Building a Resilient Future in an AI-Centric World,” while the Ideathon itself is themed “Quantum Solutions for National Development.”

Unlike a traditional programming hackathon, the Ideathon is designed to develop innovative concepts, business use cases, and policy proposals using quantum-inspired, hybrid, or quantum technology—no prior quantum programming experience is required. Interdisciplinary teams of up to eight groups will work through a facilitated ideation framework, from problem definition and mentor checkpoints to a final round of team pitches judged by a panel.

The event is organized by Invictus. Training. Solutions. in partnership with QCSP, Salesforce, EC-Council, and Certiport, with the Computing Society of Sorsogon State University–Bulan Campus supporting as a local partner.

Participating teams will choose one of four competition tracks:

• Track 1 — Quantum Computing Applications
• Track 2 — Quantum-Safe Cybersecurity
• Track 3 — Quantum for Government and Public Services
• Track 4 — Quantum Entrepreneurship

Cash prizes await the top teams: ₱25,000 for the Champion, ₱15,000 for the 1st Runner-up, and ₱10,000 for the 2nd Runner-up.

For QCSP, the Ideathon extends its ongoing push to bring quantum literacy beyond Metro Manila and into the country’s regions—following recent programs in Bulacan, Quezon City, and at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas—by giving Bicol’s students, IT professionals, and educators a hands-on entry point into quantum technology and its applications for national development.
