TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines — The Eastern Visayas technology community is gearing up for Dev8 COMPILE 2026, an annual in-person tech conference that brings together developers, students, and tech enthusiasts for a day of learning, networking, and collaboration.

A Community-Driven Initiative

Dev8 COMPILE 2026 is co-organized by ACLC College of Tacloban, the Quantum Computing Society of the Philippines (QCSP), JetBrains, and Techlint, in cooperation with Paytaca (#YourMoneyYourControl), and supported by Trabahadoor. The event continues Dev8’s mission of fostering a vibrant developer ecosystem in Eastern Visayas through regular meetups and flagship conferences.

Building on Quantum Momentum

The partnership with QCSP builds on successful quantum computing initiatives in Tacloban, including the Tacloban Quantum Computing Hackathon 2024 held at UP Tacloban College. That event, organized by QCSP (OneQuantum PH) with DOST-ASTI, DICT Region 8, Dev8, and UP Intersoc, brought together students and professionals to explore quantum circuits and emerging technologies.

Dean Patricia B. Arinto, EdD, who welcomed participants at the 2024 hackathon, expressed enthusiasm for initiatives that inspire future quantum computing researchers and professionals in the region.

What to Expect

Dev8 COMPILE 2026 promises a full day of sessions on software engineering, computer science, and IT, along with networking opportunities for the local tech community. The event aligns with Dev8’s broader activities, including monthly Dev8 Sync meetups and the Dev8 BOOT series featuring talks from speakers across Tacloban, Cebu, and Eastern Visayas.
