This one-day Quantum Computing Workshop for the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) provides participants with a practical and grounded introduction to quantum computing and its emerging relevance to the financial sector.

The program begins with the foundations of quantum computing—including superposition, entanglement, interference, measurement, and computational complexity—before progressing to quantum circuits, algorithms, and hands-on programming using Qiskit. Participants will gain practical experience building and running quantum circuits while developing an understanding of where quantum computers may offer advantages over classical approaches.

The workshop then shifts from technology fundamentals to quantum readiness, examining the current maturity and realistic timelines of quantum technologies, the implications of quantum computing for cybersecurity, quantum-safe cryptography and migration, and common misconceptions surrounding the field.

The day concludes with a focused discussion on quantum computing use cases in finance, exploring potential applications, opportunities, limitations, and what these developments could mean for banking and financial services.

Designed to balance technical understanding with strategic perspective, the workshop aims to equip BSP participants with a clearer view of what quantum computing can do today, where the technology is heading, and how financial institutions can begin preparing for the quantum era.
