National Institute for Science and Mathematics Education Development (UP NISMED) University of the Philippines Diliman, Quezon City Tentative: 3rd or 4th week of November 2026 — exact date to be confirmed
This one-day Quantum Computing Workshop, hosted at the National Institute for Science and Mathematics Education Development (UP NISMED), gives science and mathematics educators a practical, grounded introduction to quantum computing and how it can be brought into the classroom.
The program begins with the foundations of quantum computing—including superposition, entanglement, tunneling, interference, and measurement—before progressing to computational complexity, quantum circuits and algorithms, and hands-on programming using Qiskit. Participants will gain practical experience building and running quantum circuits while developing an understanding of where quantum computers may offer advantages over classical approaches.
The day closes with a dedicated focus on quantum education for K–12, covering how to introduce quantum concepts to elementary and high school learners and drawing on international lessons from STEALM Academy’s classroom experience in Bulgaria.
